4 Things You Want to Know about Fat Tire Ebike

Fat tire electric bikes are one of the latest generation of bicycles and are increasingly rising in popularity among bikers. Whether you want to ride it in snow, dirt, sand, pavement, or parks, a fat tire electric bike will be able to go everywhere with you. Fat tire electric bikes are a convenient, flexible, adventurous, and enjoyable means of transport for riders of all ages.

Now, HOVSCO Ebike will introduce the 4 things you care about most.

What is a Fat Tire Electric Bike?

You’ve heard about electric bikes with “fat” tires and it sounds like an interesting trend. But what does having fat tires actually mean and is it even something you want or need in an electric bike? Essentially, if an electric bike has 4″ to 5″ wide tires, it’s a fat tire e-bike. However, tire widths as narrow as 2.8″ and less than 4″ are also sometimes thought of as fat tires because they’re wider than the standard tires on electric road bikes or e-mountain bikes.

Fat tire ebikes come in a variety of frame styles and power levels, presenting a wonderful mix of versatility, practicality and excitement. Don’t let their rugged looks and chunky tires fool you, though. By the end of this ebike, you will discover that there is a wild and varied world of ebikes with wide tires, and something to suit most riders' needs.

1 Why do electric bikes have fat tires?

Fat tires are designed to decrease the cumulated pressure of the bike and biker by adding extra contact surface. Fat tire bike provides improved grip and traction on the most troublesome terrain. Regardless if it's wet stone, muddy paths or snowy hills, the wide tires make you feel like you're riding on a cushion of air. The sound of fat tires crushing the branches on the ground is very appealing. And you don't have to worry about it being damaged because the tires are fat and thick.

2 What are fat tire E-bikes good for?

An ebike with fat tire has better traction in snow and mud, and through dirt and loose ground such as sand, leaves, twigs, and rocks. You have ability to ride it through deeper sand but still remain at the surface, such as at the beach or in the desert. And fat tire ebike has greater e-bike stability and balance (less chance of your tires slipping and falling). More rear-end comfort over any type of bumpy terrain. And you are able to ride on any surface, not just rough terrain.

3 Are fat tire electric bikes more expensive?

When you decide to buy an electric bike, you can ask your friends who bought electric bikes to recommend, and check and compare more bikes in many stores or more websites online. Compared to buy in local bike shop, the price is much cheaper for an ebike to buy online. Hovsco ebike will later update the fat tire afterwards. Have a good expectation about it. 4 Is it easier to ride a fat tire electric bike?

Especially for starters, electric fat bikes are ideal for mountain biking, primarily because they are harder to handle. Braking isn’t as precise, and performance isn’t as good as you would get with regular mountain bike tires.

Fat tires also make the frame, rim and axles bigger and heavier, which isn’t ideal for everyone, especially if you have to lug the ebike upstairs to work or an apartment floor.
